I had a reqruiter discussing a great job opportunity and finally when it came to the status thing, it was my mistake, i said "I have EAD". She said "That's fine" and never got back to me, she said she will be in touch via email but never did that.
So this is a pattern now.
Reqruiters and HR know they can say "Sorry we do not sponser visas" so they say it without any issue but not EAD.
I am just baffled as to why are some people so fussy about EAD. Isn't EAD holders a piece of cake for the company? People with skills and eligible to work for any employer????
I am sure the hiring managers would love to bring good people on board. But unfortunately, these reqruiters and HR are creating the mess.

I dont expect USCIS to get all emotional because of our flowers and issue an update to their updated bulletin saying they will now accept and issue green cards.
The point is that we need to make awareness that there is a HUGE community that gets affected by every move they make and that we are an active and cohesive community and also to create awareness of this debacle.
Will you guys stop this madness atleast now?. If US started bending rules for people who send flowers, then everyone will try to manipulate the system. There is a lot of difference between the circumstances of originla gandhigiri and now. :rolleyes: That was our country back then, for crying out loud.We are in a foriegn country and the issuance of visa a previlege not a right.Why cant you guys understand this simple fact?. Godbless, I am sure you can get your post 6 years H-1B extension based on the Cornin and new Aytes memo of 12-5-2006. Can you ask your lawyer whether it is possible to file your H-1B extension after 01/26/2007 but BEFORE June 2007 or it must be filed before the expiry of your parolee I-94? Also, you said the Immigration Officer at the POE did not let you use your H visa but the AP. Is it because you showed him both of your H-1B visa and AP? If you did not show the AP, he would probably let you enter with the H-1B visa, right?

You mean you know of some people who filed multiple 485s in July/August and have got 2 different A#s?
We are still waiting for a response for our second application (filed in Aug). We had A#s on our I-140s so mentioned the same A#s on both applications and also noted in the second filing that one is already pending.

If this information exists in their system, and if all IO's make it transparent to the caller in the first call itself, i am sure the call volume will drop to atleast one tenth of what it is currently... and subsequently, the congressman requests, ombudsman requests will also reduce which inturn WOULD MEAN THAT THEY GET TO FOCUS MORE ON THE CASES AND IMPROVE THEIR PRODUCTIVITY AS WELL AS COMPETENCE!!!

L1 Blanket visa, from the a very reputed company, Jan 16th interview, visa was approved (i.e. no 221g), no information from Consulate, no idea as to what is delaying the stamping.

These people might be able to help, provided
a) You have EAD
b) The employer refused you a job based on the fact that you have EAD.
Needless to say if they reject your for the position based on anything else, all bets are off. So I guess one needs to be able to prove that they were refusing you because of your EAD. I am not a lawyer, so please take all this with a grain of salt.

Any ideas where can I get the latest specs for the individual photos (I485 filing purpose). I searched the web but couldn't find a USCIS document. I heard they no longer accept the 75 degree looking face.

Yes, the same law can be interpreted like this:

But its not happening. What actually is happening that they are giving unused visa from EB1-ROW to EB2-ROW to EB2-I/C. WHY?
So EB3-ROW is retrogressed bcoz it doesn't get any spillover and hence it affect EB3-I.
So where is the correct interpretation? Does any body know?
Don't take me wrong here. I don't favor EB3-ROW or any particular category. I am EB3-I with PD Nov 2002.
The bottom line is that there should not exist such severe retrogression and that is what all of us should work to remove. But the law is what it is -
The law makes allotment between categories (EB1, EB2 and EB3) in Sec. 203 of the INA. Section 202 talks about country limit (note the exception clause which provides for the parallel distribution as the country limit becomes invalid if more visas are available in a category than is consumed using per country limitation).
Excerpt from Section 202 of the INA
(2) Per country levels for family-sponsored and employment-based immigrants. - Subject to 1a/ paragraphs (3), (4), and (5) the total number of immigrant visas made available to natives of any single foreign state or dependent area under subsections (a) and (b) of section 203 in any fiscal year may not exceed 7 percent (in the case of a single foreign state) or 2 percent (in the case of a dependent area) of the total number of such visas made available under such subsections in that fiscal year.
(3) Exception if additional visas available. - If because of the application of paragraph (2) with respect to one or more foreign states or dependent areas, the total number of visas available under both subsections (a) and (b) of section 203 for a calendar quarter exceeds the number of qualified immigrants who otherwise may be issued such a visa, paragraph (2) shall not apply to visas made available to such states or areas during the remainder of such calendar quarter.

I'm wondering if these figures actually provide ammo for people who claim that H1b is driving down salary. A $50k median starting and a $60k median is not that great.

No doubt Emirates is the one of the best airline One problem flying through middle-east is that you may be taken in for secondary inspection. Happened with my friend twice when he flew Kuwait. Never happened with other Airlines. My experience flying KLM,Lufthansa, Swiss is been the best.

I exactly know where your statements about 2005-2006-2007 coming from. Your basic assumptions is that 2005-2006-2007 guys are those who just came to US 2-3 yrs back and now want their GC asap whereas you are waiting in line for 6-7 years...right?
Ma'm with all due respect, that is not correct for most of the cases. There are several people who has to re-file their labor for several reasons (employer greedy, company overtaken, laid-off, company gone bankrupt etc etc.). That does not mean that 2005-2006-2007 guys are asking that they should get GC before 2001-2004 people. What most of the people need is an ability to file for AOS so that they can indepenedent of the clutches of their employers.
I'm sure if you widen your horizon, you will be able to understand the plight of all your brothers and sisters stuck in this retrogression.
